Raise / openFold
How this differs from a full solver. Frequencies are pre-computed and calibrated against published Nash-near results, not solved on the fly. We cover 33 common 6-max spots (100bb, plus 40bb and 25bb open variants). For exact-equity per-board solving you still want a real solver (PIO, GTO+, MonkerSolver) — Solver-lite is an in-browser study aid for the spots that come up most often.

Guide

A solver's answers without the solver

PioSolver costs hundreds of dollars, needs a serious PC, and takes real study time to operate. But here's the thing: for preflop, the answers barely change. UTG's opening range at 100bb 6-max is essentially settled science. So instead of making you solve anything, Solver-lite ships the solutions: Nash-near mixed strategies for 33 preflop spots that come up constantly, displayed on a color-coded 13×13 grid you can read in seconds. The original 9 spots are free with no signup; ELITE unlocks the other 24 (SB defense, every facing-3-bet position, 3-bet-or-fold lines, and 40bb/25bb depths).

It's for micro-stakes players who keep hearing "the solver mixes there" and want to see what that actually looks like — without buying software. Loads instantly, right in the browser.

How to use it

  1. 1.Pick a spot — e.g. "BTN open" or "BB vs CO open".
  2. 2.Read the frequency bar: it shows how much of the whole range raises, calls, 3-bets, or folds in that spot.
  3. 3.Scan the 13×13 grid. Solid-colored hands are pure actions; split cells are mixes — the proportions show the frequencies.
  4. 4.Compare against what you actually do. The gap between your default and the grid is your study list.

The methodology, honestly

The frequencies are pre-computed and calibrated to match published solver output and free published charts for 6-max with standard sizings — "Nash-near", not a live equilibrium computation. Every spot cites its calibration source in the code. The 40bb and 25bb open variants follow the same approach, calibrated against free published MTT charts; 25bb is deliberately kept as raise-or-fold because it sits above honest push-fold depth (that switch happens around 15bb — see the push/fold charts tool). Change the assumptions (antes, different open sizes) and the exact mixes shift, though the shape of every range stays recognizable. That's the honest trade: 33 fixed spots, instantly, versus arbitrary trees in paid software. At micro stakes, these spots are easily 80% of what matters preflop.

One practical warning: don't try to replicate mixes at the table by randomizing. Your opponents at NL2-NL25 aren't tracking your frequencies. Play the majority action of each mix consistently, and spend the saved brainpower on postflop decisions.

Frequently asked questions

Is this a real solver?

No — and we say so upfront. Nothing is being solved in your browser. Solver-lite displays pre-computed, Nash-near solutions curated from published solver output and free published charts for 33 fixed preflop spots. A real solver (PioSolver, GTO+) computes strategies for arbitrary game trees and takes minutes to hours per spot. Solver-lite trades that flexibility for instant access to the spots that matter most.

What does 'mixed strategy' mean?

GTO doesn't always play a hand one way. A solver might open A5s from UTG 60% of the time and fold it 40%. The colored bars on each hand show these frequencies. Mixing makes you unexploitable — but at micro stakes, picking the higher-frequency action every time loses almost nothing.

Which spots are covered?

33 total: opening ranges for all 5 positions at 100bb, 40bb, and 25bb; big blind defense versus every opening position (including SB); small blind defense versus CO and BTN opens; the opener's response to a 3-bet from every position; and simplified 3-bet-or-fold lines for the SB and BTN. All assume 6-max, no antes.

Which spots are free, and what does ELITE add?

The original 9 spots are free forever: the five 100bb opening ranges, BB defense vs UTG/CO/BTN, and UTG facing a 3-bet. ELITE unlocks the other 24 — SB defense, the remaining facing-3-bet and BB-defense positions, 3-bet-or-fold lines, and the 40bb/25bb open variants. Same methodology either way; the paid spots are not 'more accurate', there are just more of them.

Why only preflop?

Preflop is where pre-computed solutions work: the spots repeat exactly, so 33 tables cover the bulk of decisions. Postflop has billions of board/action combinations — pre-computing them honestly isn't feasible in a browser tool. For postflop equity questions, use the range calculator with a board.

How should I actually study with it?

Pick the spot you play worst (for most players: SB open or BB vs BTN). Guess the action for 10 hands before revealing the grid. Then drill the same positions in the GTO Trainer until your guesses match the mix's majority action.
