What this GTO trainer actually teaches you

Most money lost at micro stakes is lost before the flop: limping trash, opening too wide from early position, folding the big blind to every button raise. This trainer attacks exactly that. It deals you a random hand in a random position, asks "what do you do?", and grades your answer against a solver-calibrated baseline — instantly, with a one-paragraph explanation of why.

It's built for players moving up through NL2-NL25 who know the rules but haven't yet internalized ranges. If you still have to think about whether K9o is an open from the cutoff or whether A5s defends against a button raise, this is the fastest free way to burn those answers in.

How to use it

1.Look at the spot: your position (or the opener's position when you're in the BB) and your two cards.
2.Pick an action — fold, open, call, or 3-bet depending on the spot type.
3.Read the feedback. Wrong answers show the best play and a short explanation of the range logic behind it.
4.Hit "Next spot" and repeat. 20-50 spots a day is plenty.

How scoring works

Three numbers track your progress. Streak is consecutive correct answers — it resets to zero on any miss, which punishes autopilot. Accuracy is lifetime correct answers divided by total answered; 80%+ means your preflop fundamentals are solid for micro stakes. Best run is your longest streak ever. Everything is stored in your browser, so you can close the tab and pick up where you left off.

The methodology, honestly

The reference ranges are a tight-aggressive (TAG) baseline calibrated against modern 6-max 100bb opening and BB-defense charts — the same family of ranges used in our preflop charts. They agree with solver output on the large majority of hands. Where a solver would mix (open a hand 40% of the time), the trainer picks the higher-frequency action so there is always one "correct" answer. That's a deliberate simplification: at micro stakes, executing a pure baseline flawlessly is worth far more than approximating mixed frequencies badly. Are the answers true GTO?›

They're a TAG-aligned baseline calibrated against modern 6-max opening and defense ranges — very close to solver output for these spots, but simplified to a single best action per hand. True GTO mixes some hands (e.g. open 50% of the time); for the exact frequencies, see our Solver-lite tool. For learning purposes, the pure-action version is what you want to memorize first.

How many spots should I drill per day?›

20-50 spots takes 5-10 minutes and is enough to build the pattern memory. Consistency beats volume — a short daily session for two weeks will fix most preflop errors at micro stakes.
